Vendors sought for LFD Auxiliary Indoor Rummage Sale
The Lewes Fire Dept. Auxiliary is seeking vendors for an indoor yard and craft sale in the truck bay at Station 2 (at Nassau Bridge) Saturday, Nov. 11, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Anyone looking to sell merchandise, new or used, can reserve a table to display their wares. The event will be advertised via printed signs, email, Facebook, the department's electronic sign and a listing in the Cape Gazette. Spaces, including use of a six-foot table, will be available for $20 for one or $35 for two. The event is a great way to both clear out the clutter and shop for the holidays.
Members will be selling hot dogs, homemade soup, baked goods and refreshments. Children’s-size Lewes Fire Department T-shirts and bibs will also be available for purchase. Sparky, the auxiliary mascot will be on hand with coloring pages and helmets for the little ones.
Since 1796, citizens of Lewes have stepped forward to join the ranks of the town's volunteer fire service. For 200 years, the association has been filled with men and women wanting to serve others. Since 2009, the LFD once again boasts an auxiliary. It maintains the same mission: to serve. Information for anyone interested in joining the auxiliary will be available at this event.
