Veterans parade registration due Oct. 28
The Delaware Commission of Veterans Affairs, in conjunction with The Delaware General Assembly, the Delaware National Guard, City of Dover and state veterans organizations, will honor Delaware veterans with a parade at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 12. Registration deadline is Friday, Oct. 28.
Larence Kirby, commission executive director, says parade lineup will begin at 8:30 a.m. Participants must sign up at the registration table in the Massey Building, adjacent to the Duncan Center at 500 Loockerman Street, Dover, for their group parade position. Only one person from each group should come to the registration table.
The parade will leave the Duncan Center, travel east on Loockerman Street and turn south on Federal Street to finish at Legislative Mall. All vehicles not driven in the parade should park in the Duncan Center Parking Lot which can be accessed from Jerusalem Way. Parade volunteers will be wearing Delaware Commission of Veterans Affairs hats and will be available to provide assistance.
