Veterans Trust Fund benefit set at Harvest Ridge Winery Aug. 24

August 19, 2017

A fundraiser for the Delaware Veterans Trust Fund will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 24, at Harvest Ridge Winery, 447 Westville Road, Marydel. Kate Gleeson of eXp Realty, Delaware, is working with Sarah Bradley and the generous folks at the winery to host the event. The two women were part of last year's fundraiser at Fordham Brewing in Dover and want to continue their work for veterans.

"Last year's event was such an inspiration, I just didn't want to see it go away. It's an honor to help such a wonderful organization," said Bradley.

A $10 entry fee gets visitors their first glass of wine, with half going to the fund. Each glass afterward is paid per glass, with tips to celebrity bartenders going to the fund. The bartenders include Ms. Delmarva Veteran Stephanie Harrison, state Rep. Sean Lynn, D-Dover, Ross Sheridan of Painted Stave Distilling, and pinup personality Ginger DoGood.

"The bartender with most tips gets his or her name inscribed on a brick at the Kent County Veterans Park in Dover," said Gleeson. “There will be a 50/50 raffle, gift baskets and items to be auctioned off, plus food available for sale from The Hungry Spork food truck."
