The Rehoboth Summer Children's Theatre has returned for its 36th summer season of outstanding professional plays for families and creative camps for kids. Three delightful plays highlight the 2017 schedule. Travel is the theme as audiences are whisked off to Neverland with Peter Pan, climb 300 feet of beanstalk with Jack and ramble the English countryside with Mr. Toad and his mighty motorcar. Kids also get their chance to shine. Four weeklong theatre camps for ages 5-12 each culminate in a Fantastic Friday performance. Two film camps for ages 8-14 provide an opportunity for participants to write, produce and star in their own original movies.

The season opened June 27 with a performance of the all-time RSCT favorite “Peter Pan.” “Jack and the Beanstalk” premieres at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 5. “Toad's Escape,” the story of Mister Toad adapted from “The Wind in the Willows,” joins the rotating performance schedule at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 19. Each of these plays is performed by two actors who bring all the characters to life. These sparkling one-hour productions run through Thursday, Aug.24. Tickets to all performances are $10. There is no charge for children under 3.

The camp schedule includes two weeks of film camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday, July 10 to 14 and Aug. 7 to 11. Theatre camps take place Monday-Friday, July 17-27, July 24-28, Aug. 17-21 and Aug. 24-28. The film camp weekly fee is $270. The theatre camps run 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for ages 5 and 6, for $170 weekly; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ages 7-12 , for $240 weekly.
