Villages of Five Points tennis program recognized

April 22, 2017

The Villages of Five Points tennis program received the 2016 United States Tennis Association Delaware District Community Tennis Organization of the Year award for Southern Delaware. The USTA recognized the efforts of Villages of Five Points tennis for organizing community junior and adult clinics over a seven-month period.

“We use the USTA Quickstart format with smaller racquets, mini nets and lower-bouncing balls to get young kids to learn the game in a fast, fun and rewarding way,” said Pat Breen, clinic coordinator. “Our goal is to get as many kids and adults interested in the game of tennis by offering inexpensive clinics in a fun and creative format.”

The 2017 program begins Monday, April 24, and runs through Nov. 1, Mondays and Wednesdays. Clinics for ages 4-7 will be from 4:15 to 5 p.m., ages 8-15 from 5 to 6 p.m. and adults from 6 to 7 p.m. All levels of experience are welcome for kids. Adult clinics are for beginner-intermediate and intermediate-level players. For more information go to www.patbreentennis.com or email Pat Breen at breenpat@yahoo.com.
