Vincentia ‘Vinnie M. Rickards, devoted to family

Mrs. Vincentia "Vinnie" M. Rickards, 63, of Georgetown, passed away in the care of her family and Seasons Hospice Monday, Sept. 25, 2017.

Mrs. Rickards was born Nov. 5, 1953, in Wilmington to the late Vincent and Wanda Sarra.

Vinnie was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time near the water at Massey's Landing. She was a devoted wife, mother and the best mom-mom in the world to her two grandchildren. Vinnie loved animals and was preceded by her devoted feline friend Mr. Fred. She also enjoyed helping out at the camp store. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years. Clarence "Buddy" Rickards Jr. of Georgetown; two daughters, Marie Griffith and her husband Bo of Georgetown, and Mary Rickards, also of Georgetown. She is also survived by a brother Joseph Sarra of Wilmington; as well as two grandchildren, Michael James Dorman and Autumn Rain Griffith.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 30, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. for viewing and visitation. Burial will follow in the Millsboro Cemetery.
