Virginia ‘Ginny’ S. Beel, DAFB retiree

Virginia "Ginny" S. Beel, 89, of Lewes, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at her home. She was born Sunday, Aug. 21, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pa.,, daughter of the late John J. and Anna (Schaffer) Stokes.

Mrs. Beel had a lifelong career and retired from Dover Air Force Base as a supervisor of production control, 436th Engineering Group. She was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Lewes, and she treasured the community there. Mrs. Beel's family was of utmost importance to her, and she cherished the time spent with them. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Beel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Beel, and her daughter, Bambi Pepper. She is survived by her daughters: Sandra London and her husband Victor of Kitty Hawk, N.C., and Jacqueline Sterling and her husband Gregory of Milton; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of her Life will be held Tuesday, March 28, at 6 p.m., at Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 W. 4th St., Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, Attn: General Fund, 129 W. 4th St., Lewes, DE 19958.
