January 7, 2018

Vivian Stotler, 66, of Harbeson, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Delaware Hospice Center early Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, after a spirited and determined two-year battle with cancer.

Born in Washington, D.C., to Elio and Mary Serra, she was the second daughter of three children, her older sister Evelyn and younger brother David; they grew up with her in Hyattsville, Md.

Vivian attended and graduated Highpoint High School and attended the University of Maryland while working for the U.S. Department of Justice in the antitrust division as a paralegal. She retired after 30 years of service to fight and win her first battle with cancer.

Vivian loved her family, friends, dogs and cats, both rescues and AKC champions. She loved to travel, and got to see many places like Italy with her daughter, England, Ireland and Scotland with her husband Rod, and the Bahamas with her family, as well as up and down the East Coast.

Vivian leaves behind her husband of 32 years, Roderick; and her two children, Greg and Leanne; numerous nieces and nephews abound. She lived a very happy life in Harbeson.
