Warner ‘Bud’ C. Haynie, active with Masonic lodge

Warner "Bud" C. Haynie, 84, of Millsboro, formerly of Linwood, Pa., went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017.

Bud was born in Chester, Pa., Sept. 3, 1933, son of the late Warner C. Haynie and Margaret (Cohen) Ellington. He retired in 1997 as an electrician with General Chemical Company in Marcus Hook, Pa.

Mr. Haynie was very active with the Masonic organization and also the Order of the Eastern Star, where he was currently a member of Jefferson Lodge No. 15 A.F. & A.M. and the Unity Chapter No. 16 in Lewes. Bud was an active member of the Long Neck United Methodist Church in Millsboro, and an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Shirley A. Haynie in 2013; two children, William Haynie and Kathleen Bowker; and a sister, Peggy Branka. Bud is survived by three children, Denise Widdowson and her husband Gary of Pocono, Pa., Butch Haynie and his wife Michelle of Millsboro, and Colleen Cooke and her husband George of Millsboro; a brother, James Haynie and his wife Debbie of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Long Neck United Methodist Church, 32051 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, with the Order of Eastern Star Service to begin at noon followed by a memorial service celebrating Bud's life. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Warner's name to the Long Neck United Methodist Church at the above address.
