Weather puts damper on Cape Region events

The Every Student, Every Trip food truck and music event set for Friday, Sept. 30 in the Cape Henlopen High School parking lot has been canceled.

The Lewes Historical Society Craft Fair set for Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal has been postponed due to wet conditions. A new date in October is being discussed.

The Escape to Lewes Open-Water Swim Classic planned for Saturday, Oct. 1 has been canceled.

Epworth United Methodist Church has postponed the Oct. 1 4th Annual Drive Away Hunger Golf Outing at the American Classic Golf Club, Lewes. The event is being rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15. Hosted by the Church's Simpson's Men's Group, the golf outing will benefit the Church Food & Love Soup Kitchen, Food Pantry at Epworth and Immanuel Shelter.  “Drive Sober 200” NASCAR XFINITY Series race has been postponed. The NASCAR XFINITY Series race has been moved to Sunday, Oct. 2, with a 10 a.m. green flag. Gates open at 9:30 a.m Anyone with a ticket to either event may enter and remain in the grandstands for both events. During the time between the NASCAR XFINITY Series race and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, please be aware that NASCAR Sprint Cup Series ticket holders have priority on reserved seats. If you have reserved NASCAR XFINITY Series tickets, please remember that those seats may not be available for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.

If you have tickets to both races in different locations, please make your way to your reserved NASCAR Sprint Cup Series seat location at the completion of the NASCAR XFINITY Series race.
