Where to watch the Oscars

February 4, 2017

With less than a month to go, there are a number of ways to catch up on most of the films nominated for this year’s Academy Awards to be presented Feb. 26.

Many of the multi-nominated contenders are still playing in area theaters, with a surprising number of others available to view from the comfort of your own home (you can pretend you are your own Academy voter). Following is a fairly comprehensive list of the films that merit a viewing before filling out the office Oscar pool (sorry, “Suicide” Squad” fans, you can watch that on your Xbox at home, if your parents allow you).

Additionally, select Cinemark, Regal Cinemas and AMC Theaters will run all nine Best Picture contenders for one low ticket price (starting at about $35 for all). Cinemark’s Oscar Movie Week begins Feb. 20, while Regal Cinema’s starts Feb. 17 (both are $35). AMC will host a two-day screening, in which participants can purchase tickets for a single day or both. They will also run a 24-hour marathon of the Best Picture films Saturday, Feb. 25, when they will be screened back-to-back.
