Where were voters in Sussex primaries?

September 23, 2016

Voter turnout for the Sussex County primaries Sept. 13 filled me with disbelief. For the Democrats, only 20 percent of registered voters cast a ballot. Republicans turned out a dismal 17 percent of their voters.

Primaries are equally important as national and state elections. All of us have hopes and goals for electing those who will best represent our goals. It matters not where you stand on development, education, law enforcement, economy and equality. What does matter is that you voice a choice for the candidate who best supports your views.

To quote Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., "All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing."

Before the November election, find the candidates whom you can support. Exercise the right that many nations don't enjoy. Vote.
