William (Bill) Payne Boylen III , loved the ocean

William P Boylen III, 56, passed away peacefully in Portland, Maine, Friday, April 6, 2018, after a long illness, with his brother holding his hand.

Bill was born Jan. 12, 1962, in Vernon, N.J., grew up in Nashua, N.H., and Brockton, Mass., and moved to Lewes in 1991. Ha had a long career both in sales and management in the building industry in this area, having been employed by Masten Lumber in Millsboro, Quality Roofing Supply in Lewes and Bradco Supply in Salisbury, Md.

Bill loved to travel and loved to surf fish at Cape Henlopen State Park. He adored spending time with his daughter Paige.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Paige Elizabeth of Lewes; brothers Michael and Robert (Jennifer); his former wife Jane; three stepsiblings, Monica Popiel (Tim), Barbara Chase and William Chase; two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William P. Boylen Jr. in 1987, and Elizabeth Boylen Chase in 2014.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 12, at 11 a.m., at Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 W. Fourth St., Lewes. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, or Delaware Mobile Surf Fisherman Club, P.O. Box 455, Dagsboro, DE. 19939.
