William G. ‘Bill’ Williams Jr., had vibrant career

William G. “Bill” Williams Jr., 75, of Millsboro, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., May 15, 1941, son of the late William G. Williams Sr. and Margaret (Cromer) Williams.

Bill was retired from Sun Oil Co., where he worked in Gaugers, Cost & Economics and Industrial & Wholesale Marketing. He worked numerous trade shows and conventions throughout the United States. He also retired from CAI in Alexandria, Va., where he was public information officer, managing the Legal Referral Program and worked numerous trade shows and conventions throughout the country.

Bill was also an avid bartender and bar manager. He worked at the Eagle’s Nest, the DeBraak, and also owned and operated a catering business called Party’s Unlimited, all in Lewes.

Bill was second vice commander of the veterans of AMVETS Post 2 and Post 22. He was host and called bar bingo at both posts for eight years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Nancy (Morgan) Williams. He will be greatly missed by his spouse of 21 years, Gary M. Mazur; three children, Michelle A. Williams, Lisa J. Megginson and her husband Joseph, and Denise M. Gropp and her husband Jeffrey. He is also survived by a grandson, Joseph E. Megginson and his wife Corey; a granddaughter, Kelly J. Gonzalez and her husband Ruben; a great-granddaughter, Rosie Velez; his sisters, Louella “Lou” Brown and Margaret Blythe-Clark and her husband James; and cousins, Lillian Haas and Colleen Lewis. He will also be missed by a very special friend, Ellen Hyslope; a sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Tony Urban; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013, Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends and family may call after 11 a.m. Interment will be held privately at Lawn Croft Cemetery in Linwood, Pa.
