William Gratton Masiello, huge Patriots fan

August 31, 2016

William Gratton Masiello, 81, of Millsboro, passed away peacefully, Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, surrounded by his family. Bill was born June 20, 1935, in Boston, Mass., son of the late Michael and Katherine (McDonough) Masiello. "Hey, Boston."

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, special grandfather, and one of the best New England Patriots football fans around.

Mr. Masiello is survived by his wife of 15 years, Mrs. Frances Pope Masiello; two sons, Michael and Christopher Masiello; three daughters, Lynne and James Meyer of Reidsville, N.C., Gayle and Greg Seker of Lewes, and Ann and Dave Naar of Milton; along with five stepchildren, John Cocker of Glen Burnie, Md., Angie and Neal Blackmon of Glen Burnie, Donna and Ed Hunt of Pasadena, Md., Christopher Cocker of Sykesville, Md., and Kathy Brady of Pasadena; along with his beloved pet, Bella. We all know he left us too early because he didn't want to vote in this year's election.

Forever known to us as Grampi, he was a grandfather to 19 beautiful grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He had one famous line, "Hey, how come you're only wearing one earring;" of course the ladies were always wearing two, but he enjoyed the look on their face as they reached for their ears...he got them every time. May he rest in peace.

John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m.,, at Conley's Methodist Church, 22150 Robinsonville Road, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Bill's name to the Amputee Coalition, American Heart Association or the Diabetes Foundation.
