William J. ‘Bill’ Lawson Jr., ASI owner and operator

William J. "Bill" Lawson Jr., 66, of Milton, passed away at home Friday, Jan. 12, 2018.

Bill was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marines after serving during the Vietnam War. Since 1980, Bill, along with his wife Pat, owned and operated Atlantic Screen Manufacturing Inc. (ASI) in Milton.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, William J. Lawson Sr. and his wife Phyllis; as well as his mother, Barbara (Justice) Thompson; and a half sister, Linda Shufelt.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pat (White) Lawson; one son, Jeff Joseph Lawson and his wife Shannon; three grandchildren, Owen Lawson, Colin Lawson and Brenna Lawson; three brothers, Gary Lawson and wife Lydia of Georgetown, Bob Lawson and wife Clara of Greenwood, and Rick Lawson and wife Betty of Arkansas; a sister, Carol Lazartic of Newark; three brothers-in-law, Donald White and wife Kay of North Carolina, John White III, and Jeff White and wife Kelly, all of Ellendale; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be in Hebron MP Cemetery, Georgetown.

Flowers are accepted, or contributions in Bill's memory may be made to Hebron MP Church, c/o Mrs. Nellie Adams, 21902 Vaughn Road, Georgetown, DE 19947.
