William Lawrence Green Sr., retired auto mechanic
William Lawrence Green Sr., 71, of Rockledge, Fla., and formerly of Millsboro, passed away at his home Saturday, July 9, 2016.
He was born in Baltimore, Md., Feb. 6, 1945, to the late William Lewis and Helen Widrzbowski Green. He was an Army veteran, and retired auto mechanic. He was a member of East Coast Christian Center, in Melbourne, Fla. He loved fishing and helping people all the time. He never raised his voice, not even to his own children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his first wife, Norma Jean Green.
He is survived by his current wife, Bonnie Kay Green; and his children: Michael Green and his wife Penny of Rayford, N.C., William Green Jr. of Selbyville, Shannon Hickman of Rockledge, and Shawn R. Hickman of Georgetown. He has four grandchildren: Nathan, Destiny, Kody and Jeremy.
Committal rites will be performed in the Chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriot Way, Millsboro, Wednesday, July 27, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Parris Sexton officiating, followed by conferral of Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a charity of your choice, Special Olympics, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
