Wings of Hope seeks sponsors

Event Sept. 9 to benefit Cancer Support Community

The Seventh Annual Wings of Hope ... A Butterfly Release to benefit Cancer Support Community Delaware will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Medical Arts Building grounds, 18947 John J. Williams Highway, Rehoboth Beach. The event will be highlighted by the release of 250 monarch butterflies in recognition of Sussex County families, friends and neighbors whose lives have been impacted by cancer. This free, community-wide event for all ages also includes a display of thousands of paper butterflies, live music from local musicians, activities for kids, and a variety of vendors and refreshment offerings. Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 9.

The 2016 Wings of Hope reached thousands in the region with well over 3,000 paper butterflies sold, and an estimated 700 people gathered for the butterfly release. Organizers are currently seeking sponsors and vendors to be a part of this inspirational community event. Cancer Support Community Delaware is part of a national nonprofit organization that provides support, education and hope to people with cancer and their loved ones. Through participation in professionally led support groups, educational workshops and mind/body classes, people affected by cancer learn vital skills that enable them to regain control, reduce isolation and restore hope regardless of the stage of disease.
