Women's Club of Milton chooses Carol Yost cover art

The Women's Club of Milton has selected Carol Yost's watercolor artwork "Holly Sprigs" for the cover of the 2018 Holiday House Tour Book. The painting was chosen by House Tour Committee members during the Holly Days Show held by the Milton Arts Guild at the Studios on Walnut in Milton. The guild has been an integral partner with the Holiday House Tour, and the studio has been included on the tour for the past three years.

Yost counts art as a constant in her life. She's worked to improve her style by taking classes and workshops, all to stretch her talent with new challenges. Her watercolors have been displayed in juried and non-juried shows throughout Delaware over the years. More recently, her work has been included in shows at Rehoboth Art League, Mispillion Art League, Milton Arts Guild, Peninsula Gallery and the Biggs Museum.

"It's a thrill to make a juried show," said Yost. "If one sells, well, that's just icing on the cake." She has recently received two honorable mention awards for her artwork. Yost extends her artistic endeavors to stained glass and fused glass artworks. She creates both paintings and glasswork in her studio. Yost was honored that her painting was chosen for the cover of the Women's Club of Milton Holiday House Tour book. Yost is a native Delawarean.

The Women's Club of Milton will hold its annual Holiday House Tour from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8. The tour showcases the historic town of Milton and the town's architecture, magnificent private homes and several public buildings, all beautifully decorated for the holiday season. The tour is a fundraiser for the charitable and educational initiatives of the Women's Club of Milton.
