The Woodbridge basketball team opened DIAA State Tournament play Feb. 27, with a blowout of Indian River 86-59 in Bridgeville.
Senior Hassan Corbin scored 27 points to lead the Blue Raiders, while teammates Jamon Kane and Troy Haynes scored 22 and 15 points, respectively.
Indian River’s Jamier Felton scored 27 points to lead the Indians. Ja’Shaun Johnson added 15 and OrRyin Morris put in 11.
The Blue Raiders were set to travel to Smyrna Thursday, March 1, for a rematch with Henlopen Conference Champion Eagles in the second round of the DIAA Championships. Smyrna defeated Woodbridge Feb. 23, 49-65 for the conference crown.
