World famous Glenn Miller Orchestra to play at Rehoboth Bandstand July 31

Between 1939 and 1942, the Glenn Miller Orchestra recorded 17 Top 10 Hits in 1939, 31 in 1940, and 11 each in 1941 and 1942. Some Top 10 Hits include "In the Mood," "A String of Pearls," "Pennsylvania 6-5000," "Little Brown Jug" and "Tuxedo Junction."

"We are extremely pleased to bring this nationally recognized and awarded group to the City of Rehoboth Beach Bandstand this Sunday, July 31," said Corey Groll, Bandstand program director. "With great honor and respect, the Glenn Miller Orchestra has stood the test of time and has been a part of every big band's musical repertoire from elementary school jazz band performances to the professional groups of today. The City of Rehoboth Beach is proud to bring them to our audience free of charge this Sunday."

Also in the group is Rehoboth Beach resident Cody Leavel, who graduated from Cape Henlopen High School.
