Zwaanendael Women’s Club sets Valentine Tea Feb. 8

January 20, 2017

The GFWC Zwaanendael Women's Club will hold its Valentine Tea from 1 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Lewes Presbyterian Church on Kings Highway in Lewes. Autumn Schneider will provide entertainment. Schneider is an accomplished singer, dancer and choreographer whose love for the arts began as the daughter of a dance teacher and choreographer. Admission is $25 and includes a lunch of tea sandwiches and desserts. Assorted teas, water and coffee will also be available.

Proceeds will be used to benefit local charities and fund the annual scholarships the club supports. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Dottie Pepe at 302-231-8777 or dpepe45@hotmail.com by Wednesday, Feb. 1.

The club's mission has always been to support Lewes and its surrounding areas through volunteering time and resources to community members in need. The women of Zwaanendael each year spend thousands of hours supporting homeless shelters, food banks, abused women and children, displaced veterans and local food pantries. Members further education through the adoption of a local elementary school classroom, and giving annual scholarships to Beebe Nursing School students and Cape Henlopen High School sophomores who participate in the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminars each year.
