Results from Monday, June 27

Monday was a night of ties in the elementary division with the Grays and Greens ending at 2-2 and the Blues and Reds playing to a 4-4 result.

Peyton Moore and Malory Wood had goals for the Grays, Kylee LaVere had both goals for the Greens, Maya Jester got the hat trick for the Blues with Isabella Marinelli also getting a Blues goal, and Riya Jani earned two goals, Maddie Long and Lyndsey Weller finished out the scoring for the Reds.

Wednesday night will have the Golds vs the Grays while the Maroons and the Greens will battle each other. Game times is 5:30 on the Bermuda at Cape Henlopen HS

 

 

Senior Division

 

The Pumas widen their lead in the division with a 3-1 win over the Seahawks. Jenna Steele got the Pumas off to the halftime lead with her unassisted goal at 16:10 of the first half. Lola Messick scored the winning goal with an assist by Jessie Tyndall at 12:10 of the second half. Maddie Wilber earned the insurance goal with an assist from Messick with 8:40 remaining. Amanda Sponaugle was able to get a goal for the Seahawks with 6:06 remaining.

The Artics defeated the Corals with the Cordrey sisters providing the scoring for the Artics. Kayleigh Cordrey got the first goal with an assist from Taylor Smith at 15:27, and then Kayleigh assisted with her sister’s (Rylie Cordrey) goal at 10:30, also in the first half. Rylie got her second goal (and the game winner) at 14:42 in the second half with an assist by Lindsay Williams. Sydney Ostroski then got the Corals moving with a pair of goals at 11:58 (assist from Riley Klopp) and at 9:34 but Rylie earned the hat trick with her unassisted goal at 8:16, making the final score 4-2.

The final game of the evening ended with the Bengals defeating the Baffins, 3-1. Paige Ludwicki started the scoring with her unassisted goal at 17:45 in the opening half for the Baffins, but at 2:08 Melanie McCloy tipped in a pass from Marcella Sabbagh during a penalty corner to even the score at half. The second half was all Bengals with Lyndsay Smailer scoring at 16:32 with an assist by Anna Stancofski and Stancofski finished out the scoring at 15:06 with an assist by Noelle Sabbagh.

 

Second half play begins this Wednesday with the Bengals vs the Corals at 6:00, Baffins vs Seahawks at 6:45 and finishing with the Artics vs the Pumas at 7:30 on the turf at Cape Henlopen HS.
