Results from Wednesday, June 21

Elementary Division

The Tides defeated the Waves by a final of 5-1. Leah Metzner had a pair of first half goals for the Tides to enter halftime. Emmilyn Stazzone then opened the second half with a pair of goals for the Tides before Ava Yenovkian got the Waves on the scoreboard. Addison Wood finished out the scoring with a late goal for the Tides.

The Guards outlasted the Dunes by a final of 2-0 with both goals coming in the second half. June Hale and Shea Danahy did the damage for the Guards.

Games continue on Monday, 6/26 with the Waves vs the Dunes and the Guards vs the Tides. Both games are at 5:30 at Cape Henlopen HS.

Senior Division

A trio of well played games occurred in the senior division with the Artics doing the job in the second half for a 5-1 win over the Baffins. Kelly Bragg and Kaila Hindt got the Artics off to the lead before Grace Hudson scored just before halftime to tighten the game at 2-1. Hindt added to the lead for the Artics with her second goal at 18:38, followed by a Hailey Moore goal then Bragg capped off the game with at goal in the final minute.

The Bengals and the Seahawks played to a 3-3 result with neither team able to dominate the other. Taylor Smith got the Seahawks the early lead with her goal at 8:16 in the first half. Noelle Sabbagh pulled the Bengals into a tie at 17:44 of the second half. Rylee Pettyjohn got the lead back for the Seahawks at 16:27. Macy Steinwedel again got the Bengals back to a tie with her goal at 13:08. Caroline Judge answered for the Seahawks at 16:27 but Erin Kay was able to get through the defense for the tying goal at 3:05.

The Pumas outlasted the Corals by a final of 3-1. Amanda Sponaugle opened the scoring at 15:30 for the Pumas but Rylie Cordrey got the tying goal at 5:03 before halftime. Sierra Jester and Reagan Ciabattoni earned second half goals to seal the win for the Pumas.

Games resume on 6/26 with the Seahawks vs the Pumas at 6:00, followed by the Artics vs the Corals, and the finishing with the Bafins vs the Bengals.
