Getting on the saddle without clothing

March 11, 2018

Yeah, it's a thing. Nude bike rides of all kinds are popular in Washington and Oregon, spilling over into Canada. As a cyclist, this is an event I have absolutely no interest in. But I did have the chance to see one – the Fremont Solstice Nude Bike Ride in Seattle. Fremont is a quirky Seattle neighborhood and the perfect place for this bike ride.
I've been to Fantasy Fest in Key West, so I was prepared for some of the sights. The bottom line – no pun intended – is that some people should not disrobe in public. Just my opinion. There are some things that can't be unseen.
Cyclists of all ages and body types go all out with body paint and decorated bikes. The general rule is that all participants must have body paint – at least on sensitive parts – but many don't pay attention to the rule.
Police sit along the route on their bikes and just roll their eyes as thousands of spectators line the streets.
The photos published here are carefully screened. Believe me, 95 percent of the shots I took could not be printed.
