Tower messages only revealed from above

Some visitors to Cape Henlopen State Park near Lewes leave a little of themselves behind in messages or words. The messages are made of pine cones and needles and only can be seen from atop the 70-foot World War II observation tower near Fort Miles.

It's the only concrete tower on the Delaware coastline that is open to the public. The top is accessible via a long flight of circular steps. And when you reach the top, the view is spectacular.
