Traverse City Adventure: An amazing day of riding

September 3, 2017

DAY 22 • 2 SEPTEMBER 2017 • EVANS LAKE

This was the best day of riding yet. By the time we rode into the pretty little town of Marshall we had clocked 60 miles.  That brings our total to 806 miles.

Thanks to an easterly tailwind and gently rolling roads for today’s distance.  We also rode the 15-mile length of the Falling Waters Trail between Jackson and Albion.  It was beautifully paved, had picnic tables and benches along the way looking over clear-water lakes and on this sunny Labor Day weekend Saturday, lots of families were out riding and enjoying being outdoors.

The wind shifts to our face as we head westward today to Kalamazoo.  We plan to pick up a trail from Kalamazoo to South Haven, on the Lake Michigan shoreline, on Monday.  Hopefully the trail is protected by lots of trees because the west wind is supposed to pick up steam to 25 and above, right in our faces.  And a blast of cold coming with it.

I hope readers are having a nice Labor Day weekend.
