Week Seven of Indoor League 2017

 

Elementary Division

 

In the first semi final game, the Skins defeated the Eagles by a final of 2-1. The Skins jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening half behind goals by Hannah Schaeffer and Alysa McCArthy. Atia Sabbagh was able to get the second half goal for the Eagles but the team was not able to push through a second goal before time expired.

In the second semi final game the Cardinals and the Ravens battled to a 0-0 game in regulation. Shea Danahy scored first in the overtime for the Cardinals but Addison Wood and Anna Crenshaw countered for the Ravens for the win at 2-1.

The championship game, between the Skins and the Ravens was decided after two rounds of the shootout. The teams played to a 0-0 score at the end of regulation and neither team was able ot score in the first round of the shootout. Schaeffer  was the only scorer in the second round of the shootout giving the Skins the championship.

 

Senior Division

 

In the Senior Division, an outstanding game was played between Team Sabbagh and Team Dawson. Elise Westbrook gave Dawson the first lead at 21:49 in the first half before Lori Sapp scored her goal at 14:30 for Sabbagh. Noelle Sabbagh put her team into the lead at 4:45 of the second half but Lyndsey Smailer pulled Dawson back into a tie with her goal at 2:11. In the shootout, Sabbagh and Sapp both scored on their attempts while Maggie Dawson kept her team close with a tally. Westbrook scored to tie the game for Team Dawson but Sam Connors earned the game winner on the last attempt in the shootout earning the championship for Team Sabbagh.

 

Adult Division

In the third place game in the adult division, A3 defeated A1 with a big second half effort. Bridget Marshall opened the scoring with her goal at 15:13 but Dom Scott quickly followed with a tying goal at 14:37 for A1. Jenna Berkhart and Kelly Smith (2) earned goals for the winning team while Khara Landon had the second goal for A1. Final in the game was 4-2.

The Adult Division championship was a super game with action back and forth throughout the entire 27 minutes. Caroline judge opened the scoring for A4 at 24:55 but Rylee Pettyjohn countered for A2 at 24:17. Judge and Madi Irwin answered back at 22:00 and 20:11 before Lisa Williams scored at 19:02 for A2. The half time break had the score at 3-2 for A4. Williams pulled A2 into the tie at 5:12 but Irwin got the game winner for the champions at 3:28 remaining in the game.
