Guided tour of state park trail set Nov. 7
A Delaware State Parks naturalist will take participants on a guided hike at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, along the Sea Hawk Trail, which begins on the southern coast of Indian River Bay at Holts Landing State Park. The group will walk through four different ecosystems including a beach, meadow, salt marsh and hardwood forest, identifying unique plants and animals along the way. Attendees will also learn about the history of this park and find out about the Indian River Bay and the Assawoman Canal. Participants should meet at the main parking lot at Holts Landing State Park near Millville. It is a good idea to wear sturdy shoes or boots as the trail can be wet in places. The trail is 1.7 miles of flat terrain and makes a loop around the park that ends back at the main parking lot. It is also part of the Delaware State Parks Trail Challenge which attendees can learn more about during this program. There is no fee for this program but for more information, call the Indian River Life-Saving Station Museum at 227-6991.

The students’ journey is documented as they begin to learn the horrors and tragedies of the Holocaust. For details, call the church office at 645-6334 or visit uussd.org.
