Owner Dave Repass is hoping to increase those numbers, and he has asked some customers, family, friends and local business partners to lend a hand to make the event more than just about oil changes and Lewes Meineke. He is turning Free Oil Changes for Veterans into a community event where many others can support and honor those men and women who have served.

Last year, veterans received great service and a free oil change with a chicken dinner provided by the local VFW. Repass's good friend Jeff Hamer, owner of Fins and Big Oyster Brew, also  served some amazing food for veterans. Hamer and Fins will be back this year along with some more from local favorite food hangouts including Surf Bagel, Taco Bell.

Repass also noted the need to give the veterans something more to do while they wait. Joining Lewes Meineke in honoring veterans this year will be Delaware USO, Gun Shooter Enterprises, Delaware USO, Inland Motorsports, Rise Fitness, Surf Bagel, Delaware Tech, L&W Insurance, HMD Sporting Gear, Waves Car Wash, US Lawns, Delaware State Police, Milton Police Department, Cape ROTC, Quest Adventures, WGMD 92.7,  AutoZone,  First State Crane, Carter Pools, Griswold Homecare, Total Outdoor Solutions, Georgetown VFW, Pet Wants, Allen Harim Foods.

"Veterans Day is the ideal time to display our genuine gratitude for the sacrifices made every day by the brave men and women in our military," said Danny Rivera, president of Meineke Car Care Centers. "At Meineke, we know an oil change is a basic service vehicles need to ensure they continue to function properly.  By offering free oil changes to our military community, we're doing our small part to ensure they have their most basic car care need taken care of."

Free oil changes include up to five quarts of standard motor oil, and a standard oil filter. If a vehicle requires upgraded oil, a discount equal to the basic oil change service will be provided. Lewes Meineke will only be providing Free Oil Changes For Veterans November 11.
