Cindy Evans Brasure, dedicated nurse

On Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, Cindy Evans Brasure passed away from cancer at the age of 59.  She had been battling cancer for about three years. 

Cindy was born Oct. 7, 1958, the daughter of the late Norma and Walter Evans.  A native of Selbyville, Cindy graduated from Indian River High School in 1976, and graduated from Beebe Hospital School of Nursing in 1981.  She dedicated herself to working as a nurse for 30 years, first as a homecare nurse, and then at Beebe Hospital, Peninsula Regional Medical Center and Atlantic General Hospital.

 She is forever remembered by her husband of 32 years, Harry Carlton Brasure; sons Joshua Brasure and Chad Brasure; daughter Norma Brasure; stepdaughter Heather Apostolico; and five grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Sharon Lyon and Ellis Carpenter; her aunt Elma McCabe and cousins Tracey Hudson and Troy McCabe; and a number of other relatives and close friends. Cindy was preceded by her sisters, Joyce McCabe and Carol Wood.

 A Celebration of Cindy Brasure will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, at Fenwick Island Baptist Church at 11 a.m.  Interment will be held at St. George UMC Cemetery in Clarksville.

 In lieu of flowers, Cindy has requested donations to Fenwick Island Baptist Church, 32806 Lighthouse Road, Selbyville, DE 19975.  The church has helped Cindy tremendously through these past couple years, and has been a great support to the family.
