John W. ‘Jack’ Lynch, Barcroft retiree

John W. Lynch, 74, of Lewes, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, following a brief illness. He was born July 17, 1943, in Lewes, the son of the late Ernest Robert and Leora B. (Fisher) Lynch.

Mr. Lynch had worked in plant maintenance for Barcroft/SPI Pharma, retiring after 30 years. After retirement he continued to be active working in various jobs with the many friends he developed over the years. Throughout his life he enjoyed surf fishing, the Pittsburgh Steelers, NASCAR (Dale Earnhardt and his son Dale Jr.), spending time with his friends at Grotto Pizza Long Neck, and being with his family. All of those who met him knew him to always be smiling, outgoing, friendly, and willing to help anyone in need.

Jack graduated from Lewes High School in 1963. He followed graduation with service in the Delaware Army National Guard at Fort Miles in Lewes, and going to work for DuPont in Seaford.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his companion of many years Amy Crook; and his brothers Robert E. Lynch and Daniel B. Lynch. He is survived by daughter Dawn M. Lynch of Lincoln, daughter Kimberly A. Beam and her husband Christopher of Lincoln; and grandsons Austin M. Beam, and Tyler C. Beam.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Jan. 20, at 1 p.m., at the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Station, 219 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach. Arrangements have been handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Services and Crematorium, Milford.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Lewes Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 225, Lewes, DE 19958.
