Donald L. Adkins, operated butcher shop

Donald L. Adkins, 70, of Dagsboro, passed away Monday, Aug 22, 2011, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md.

Donald was born June 2,1941 to Layton L. Adkins and Alice M. Godfrey. Donald was a resident of Dagsboro his entire life.  Donald worked as a farmer and butcher, were he owned and operated the family butcher shop on Route 20. In the mid-1970s, he opened Adkins Produce and Country store on Long Neck Road In Millsboro.

He is survived by a sister, Mary Ann Hoffman of Dagsboro; a brother, Robin Adkins of Dagsboro; two daughters, Diana L. Godwin and Sherry L. Magee, both of Dagsboro;  four grandsons, David Godwin and his wife Ashley, Derrick Godwin and his wife Penny, Dayton Magee and Jeremy Magee, all of Dagsboro.; two great-grandsons Mitchell L. Godwin and Ivan H. Godwin, both of Dagsboro.
