A crash involving a truck and a minivan tied up traffic Friday morning on Route 24 for about two hours.

The accident happened at 10:19 a.m. in the area of Bryn Mawr Drive near the Beebe Medical Center campus on Route 24 when Beverly A. Hawkins, 64, of Harrisburg, Pa., was stopped in the center median strip waiting to pull into eastbound traffic, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.

For unknown reasons, a 2008 Ford F350 driven by Christopher A. Hubler, 30, of Cherry Hill, N.J., swerved into and struck the front of Hawkins' Toyota Sienna pushing it backwards and sending the truck in an easterly direction where it stopped on on the side of the road, Fournier said.

Both drivers were properly restrained and taken to Beebe Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries.
