Thanks to Dewey Goes Pink 5K supporters

October 26, 2012

On Oct. 6, Dewey Beach really did go pink! Over 1,300 runners, walkers, cheering spectators and volunteers crowded the streets and sidewalks of Dewey Beach to take part in the second annual Dewey Goes Pink 5K Run/Walk sponsored by the Starboard to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer.

And people came not just from Delaware and the surrounding states, but from Idaho, Ohio, Rhode Island and even California! We are so very grateful to Steve Montgomery, the Starboard staff, the Dewey Beach police, sponsors, donors and everyone who helped make this day so very successful. We want to especially thank the Dewey Beach businesses and residents for their warm welcome and spontaneous participation in the day’s events.

All funds raised through the Dewey Goes Pink 5K will stay right in the local community to provide support and resources for those faced with a diagnosis of breast cancer and for programs of awareness, education and access to screening. On behalf of the thousands of people we serve, a heartfelt thank you!
