Delmarva Power makes considerable progress with restoration effort
Delmarva power made significant progress today restoring service to customers who lost power as a result of Hurricane Sandy. As of 6 p.m. Oct. 30, 45,678 have been restored out of a total of 71,307.
Delmarva Power has also set its global estimated time of restoration (ETR). A global ETR indicates the time at which 90 percent of customers are expected to have power restored.
In northern Delaware and in northeast Maryland the global ETR is set for midnight Wednesday. On the southern Delmarva Peninsula, the global ETR is expected to be reached Friday at 6 p.m.
“Our crews have been working around the clock to restore power,” said Delmarva Power Region President Gary Stockbridge. “We are pleased to be able to tell customers tonight that power will be restored by the end of the day tomorrow.”
During the restoration period, a customer’s service may go on and off intermittently. In the wake of the storm, weakened trees can continue to fall and electrical equipment can fail causing additional outages.
