Rosa Lee Bell, North Carolina native

Rosa Lee Bell, 75, departed this life Tuesday evening, Nov. 13, 2012, at home in Clarksville.

Rosa was born in Rosehill, N.C., to William Holden and Hattie Mae Thompson. Rosa attended school in Clinton, N.C., and was a member of the Rev. Walker Baptist Church throughout her childhood. Rosa spent the latter part of her teen years with her loving stepmother Addie Lou Holden in Dudley, N.C. In 1970 Rosa moved to Delaware, where she met and married Brooks Bell Jr. of Pountege, Va., in August 1971. Rosa was a member of the Eastern Stars of New Haven, Conn., for 10 years and continued to serve her chapter when she returned to Delaware in the early 1990s.

Rosa will be missed by many for her smile, loving nature and her heart of gold.

Rosa leaves to mourn her six sons, Billy Thompson of Clinton, N.C., Kenneth Thompson of Washington, D.C., Johnny Moore of Greenwood, Darrell Belle of Frankford, and Robert Bell and Glenn Bell of Rehoboth; and two daughters, Phyllis Scott and Patricia Belle, both of Millsboro.

She also leaves two sons-in-law, LaBarron Scott and Nathaniel Robinson Sr., both of Millsboro; and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Thompson of Clinton; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She leaves a special companion whom she loved very much, Mr. Ronald Hall of Clarksville.

She leaves us now to join her husband of 20 years, Brooks Bell; her son Willie Thompson; two sisters, Nellie Campbell and Anna Holden; and two grandchildren, Johnnie “Jr.” Belle and Sabrina Bell.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 19, at Trinity Holiness Church, Delaware Avenue, Frankford, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Apostle Larry D. Morris will officiate. Burial will follow at Zoar Golden Acres, Bishopville, Md.
