Logan Taylor Roe, Sussex Tech athlete

Logan Taylor Roe, 16, of Millsboro, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012.

Logan enjoyed sports and playing the drums. Logan was a student at Sussex Technical High School where he was a member of the varsity baseball and football team.  He was also a member of the National Honor Society, a state award winner in the HOSA competition and was a previous Junior All-State Percussion Band member.  He played travel baseball with the Sussex Slammers 17U baseball team.

Logan had a passion for life, enjoyed cooking and talking, and was a friend to anyone that he came in contact with.  Logan was an avid weight lifter and often mentioned that he wanted to be a mentor to the younger football team members like his brother Matthew and strength coach Jim Durkin were to him.  He truly loved all of his football and baseball teammates and coaches.

Logan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Maxine Roe of Glen Burnie, Md.; his maternal grandparents, Calvin and Carol Hammond of Gumboro; and sister Mindy Daisey.  He is survived by his parents, Clay and Beverly Roe of Millsboro; sister Katie Daisey of Millsboro; brother Matthew Roe and his wife Crystal of Gumboro; and sister Dori Camper and her husband Eric of Gumboro. Logan is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, Pat and Calvin Blades of Pasadena, Md.; Helen and Marion Butler of Pocomoke City, Md.; Barbara Callurafici of Westminster, Md.; Dianna Deeds, of Glen Burnie; Kathy and Walter Kikola of Pasasena, Michael Roe of Rawlings, Md., Ricky and Angie Hammond of Millsboro, Debbie and Brooks Tyre of Millsboro, Teresa and Bryan Tracey of Millsboro, Rita and Barry Chandler of Millsboro and Bill and Sheri Darkow of Millsboro. Logan will be remembered by all of his cousins and was truly loved by his nephews Jaxon Camper, Kaleb Roe, Landen Roe and his nieces Kamryn Camper and Hannah Darkow.  Logan’s long time girlfriend, Clara May Abella, always had a special place in his heart and will remain in his heart forever.

A visitation and calling hours  will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 20, and 9 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Bay Shore Community Church, 36759 Millsboro Hwy., Millsboro.  The funeral service will be held at Bay Shore immediately following Wednesday’s visitation.  Interment will be at Carey’s Camp Cemetery.
