Home for the Holidays! Cape May- Lewes Ferry Offers Special Lewes Christmas Tour Package
(Cape May, NJ) The Cape May – Lewes Ferry is your ticket to yuletide cheer! On Saturday, December 1, the Ferry has partnered with the Lewes Historical Society to offer a Christmas Tour of Lewes package, which features a self-guided tour that gives the Lewes Historical Society a chance to show off its many historic houses decorated for the season. In addition, the tour also includes several private homes that are open for a visit, bringing even more Yuletide cheer to the quaint town on the bay. The tour is one day only from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
“As you walk through historic homes decorated with simple Christmas greens, the tour gives you a glimpse of what Lewes was like many years ago,” said Charisse Rudolph, customer service manager for the Cape May – Lewes Ferry. “The tour will definitely get you into the Christmas spirit.”

During the tour, come by the Christmas Antiques Bazaar and Bake Sale, held at the Rabbit's Ferry House at Third and Shipcarpenter Streets on the Lewes Historic Complex. It's a wonderful chance to do a bit of shopping for the holidays! Outside of the house is a Holiday Greens Sale featuring fresh magnolia, pine and holly- while supplies last! In addition, enjoy several area churches' luncheons, Bethel UMC's Cookie Walk and Lewes Yacht Club's indoor Craft Fair and luncheon. Or win local artist Barbara Lloyd's framed painting of a beautiful view of the gazebo at Mary Vessels Park. Raffle tickets are $5.00 per chance and can be purchased at the Ryves Holt House Museum Shop at the corner of Mulberry and Second Streets.
The package is available on Saturday December 1 only. Ticket sales for this event close at the end of business on Tuesday, November 27. The ferry departs Cape May for Lewes at 7:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and customers may return to Cape May on any afternoon departure. Advanced reservations are required.
The all-inclusive price for one vehicle and driver is $57.50. The price for an additional passenger 13 years of age or older is $21.50 while a child (6-12) is $6.50 per person. Children 5 years old or younger are free. The package includes round trip ferry passage and entry into the decorated tour locations.
