George D. Parsons, Sussex painter

George D. Parsons of Laurel, formerly of Nassau and Lewes, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at his daughter's residence in Harbeson.

He was born Thursday, May 9, 1940, in Delmar, Md., son of the late James Levin and Helen Virginia (Jones) Parsons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, George D. Parsons; and two brothers, James "Skip" and Elwood Daniel Parsons.

Mr. Parsons was a painter, working for different companies in the area. He enjoyed riding his 1958 Panhead Harley-Davidson, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, fishing, spending time with his family and friends and always liked a good seafood meal.

He is survived by two daughters, Sherri A. Parsons and her fiancée Randy McCabe of Harbeson, and Angie Hastings and her husband Jason of Seaford; two grandsons, David Parsons and Clarence Sears III, both of Harbeson; three granddaughters, Rebecca and Andrea Hastings, both of Seaford, and Savanna Sears of Harbeson; and two sisters, Hilda Jane Baugh of Lake City, Fla. and Mary Evelyn Jestice of Seaford. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and their families.

A celebration of Mr. Parson's Life will be held at a later date.
