Elizabeth J. “Betty Jean” Warrington, 76, of Milton, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at the Delaware Hospice Center.
Betty Jean was born in Milford, daughter of the late Harry R. and Mildred (Spicer) Jefferson. She had worked for many years for Goff’s IGA.
Betty Jean was a member of Goshen U.M. Church and Milton Senior Center. She enjoyed collecting lighthouses, photography and traveling. She also graduated with a perfect attendance record.
In addition to her parents, Betty Jean is preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Warrington III.
She is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law: Frank and Ethel Warrington of Clayton, Michael and Sue Warrington of Milton, David and Gerri Warrington of Lincoln, Dale and Debbie Smith of New Hampshire, and Jason and Lisa Wedding of Denton, Md.; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; a sister: Phyllis Gilroy; two brothers: Charles and Kenny Jefferson; and her special friend: Charlie Hayes of Smyrna.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 24, at Goshen U.M. Church, 103 Mulberry St., Milton, with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 23, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton. Burial will be in Slaughter Neck Cemetery.
