Volunteers pack 200 Thanksgiving meals

November 22, 2012

Faith United Methodist Church of Rehoboth Beach gathered volunteers and food donations to prepare Thanksgiving dinners for 200 residents.

The group came together Nov. 21 in the basement of the Community Resource Center off Route 1 in Rehoboth Beach. Volunteers packed turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and sweet potatoes into a take-out box for area residents. Also included were cake and rolls, said organizer Wayne Paskins.

"Last year we served about 200 meals, and we expect to do about the same this year," said Paskins. Residents stopped by Community Resource Center to pick up the meals, or Paskins sent volunteers out to deliver them.
