Lewes Fire Department Auxiliary to help parade watchers stay warm with cocoa and hot dog sale Dec. 1

November 27, 2012

The Lewes Fire Department Auxiliary will sell hot cocoa and hot dogs before and during the Lewes Christmas Parade Saturday, Dec. 1.

This year, members will also sell Lewes Fire Department T-shirts in children's and toddler sizes with the slogan Stay Back 200 Feet emblazoned on the back. Auxiliary cookbooks will also be available for purchase. President Kathy Reinhart suggests, “Both items can be used as wonderful gifts or stocking stuffers.”

Since 1796, citizens of Lewes have stepped forward to join the ranks of the town's volunteer fire service. For 200 years, the association has been filled with men and women wanting to serve others. Since 2009, the LFD once again boasts an auxiliary with the same mission: to serve. Information will be on hand for anyone interested in joining the auxiliary.
