Joseph R. Waples, Ninja Turtles fan

Joseph “Joey” Richard Waples, 22, passed away at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012. Born Dec. 21, 1989, in Lewes, he was the son of Gary G. Hughes of Georgetown and Dawn N. Waples of Selbyville.

He was a 2011 graduate of the Howard T. Ennis School. He loved movies, was a fan of the Ninja Turtles and was a very good kid, “who kept you going” as his mother recounted. He will be sadly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents: William and Sandra Waples of Millsboro; and his paternal grandparents: Dale Gray of Georgetown and Mary Klein of Punta Gorda, Fla. He is also survived by his brothers: Zachary and Joshua Waples, also of Selbyville; his aunt: Cindy West; and five uncles: Karl Waples, Kevin Waples, Kenny Waples, J.D. Gray and Ronnie West. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, extended family members and friends across the area.

A funeral service and memorial of his life will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Pastor Parris Sexton will officiate. Interment follows at Woodlawn Cemetery.
