GFWC Zwaanendael Women's Club in Lewes helps those in need as winter approaches

December 4, 2012

The members of the GFWC Zwaanendael Women's Club in Lewes completed a collection project Nov. 20 for the homeless veterans and those in need who are receiving services through People's Place in Milford. Items collected included blankets, clothing, shoes, toiletries, hats, scarves and gloves.

In addition to items donated by the club members, the success of this project was shared by other groups within the community. The Nassau Grove Community donated two SUVs full of items to People's Place and a Gore-Tex executive delivered tents and other outdoor equipment.

The Zwaanendael Club of Lewes brought members, friends, neighbors and businesses together to help those in need and thanked all who shared in this rewarding endeavor. Visitors and prospective members are welcome to attend the club meetings, held at 1 p.m., on the third Tuesday of each month at Third Street and Savannah Road in Lewes.
