December 5, 2012

A 20-year-old Georgetown man has died from injuries sustained during an accident Dec. 1.

Mark W. Crossan was walking at 5:52 a.m. on Summit Bridge Road north of Marl Pit Road when he was struck by a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Howard S. Johnson, 65, of New Castle, said Cpl. John Day of the Delaware State Police.

The truck was traveling south and left the west edge of the roadway before stopping in a field, he said.

Crossan was taken to Christiana Hospital where he was admitted with serious injuries. He died Dec. 4, Day said.

Johnson was not injured, and no charges have been filed, Day said.
