Brenda Scoon, coffee purveyor

Brenda J. Scoon, 64, of Ocean View, passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Brenda went peacefully at home overlooking the Chesapeake Bay with her best friend of 30 years by her side. She was from Rock Hall, Md.

Many will remember Brenda as the founder of Rainbow Java Coffee. She marketed her fair trade, locally roasted coffees throughout the area and was a presence at the farmers markets in Lewes and Rehoboth.

Brenda's spirit was genuinely unique and she was loved immensely. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but will live on forever in their hearts and memories.

She was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Scoon. She is survived by her father, John Walter Scoon Jr., and siblings John Walter Scoon II, Charles Eugene Scoon, Vicky E. McCloud, and Lillian L. Ward.
