December 6, 2012

Milton police have charged a Milton man, 35, with rape after police say he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl.

Police received a tip that John Piper had a sexual relationship with the girl, said Capt. John Cornwell of the Milton Police Department.

Upon investigation, he said, police discovered a couple of incidents had occurred in the 26000 block of Autumn Road near Oak Orchard starting in October.

Police arrested Piper and charged him with two counts of fourth-degree rape. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $20,000 cash bond. He also has a no contact order for the victim and anyone younger than 18, Cornwell said.
