John Myers, department chair of the Cape Henlopen High School counseling office, and Terri Smith, Cape Henlopen High School college counselor, will present a financial aid and scholarship information evening at Cape Henlopen High School at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12, in the auditorium or library.
Students and parents are encouraged to attend, ask questions and get answers regarding financial aid. Free federal student aid applications will be available for students to fill out as well as information about the different sources of federal, state and private college funds.
Myers will discuss an overview of the financial aid process and Smith the importance of meeting deadlines for grants, scholarships, loans and work-study programs. Richard Gentsch, executive vice president of the Delaware Community Foundation and Dianne Johnson, Financial Aid Clearinghouse staff assistant of the Delmarva Education Foundation, will speak about valuable financial aid resources.
The financial aid information applies to all post-high school education, four-year colleges and universities, community or two-year schools, technical schools, trade schools, business schools, culinary and beauty schools.
