Short’s Marine has just been named by Boating Industry Magazine as one of the Top 100 Boat Dealers in the United States. Short’s has been added to the list every year since Boating Industry Magazine started the award in 2005.
While most awards are typically focused on sales volume, the Top 100 award is based on a wide range of qualitative information that ultimately gives consumers a resource to find the best boat ownership experience, from boats, parts and accessories sales to service, storage and more.
Owner Donald Short said, “Our people put a lot of effort into what we do, so I am very proud of this award because it demonstrates how committed all of us are to our customers and the boating industry. We want to give our customers the best experience they can have owning a boat by doing things right. That is our goal.”
With more than 8,000 marinas and boat dealerships across North America, applications for the Top 100 Program were considered by a nonpartisan panel of industry giants, including a cross section of finance companies, boat manufacturers, vendors and engine manufacturers. These panelists judged dealers based on set criteria, including current financial success, long-range planning and viability, customer satisfaction and retention, and efficiency of internal systems.
Dealers were rated on not only performance, but also quality initiatives, such as continuous process improvements, marine industry and personnel certifications, on- and off-water training for customers, customer service initiatives and dealer dress code.
